Others may be able to answer this better than I, but I think I can shed some light on it for you. There are many reasons why some desendents of the 1906 roll members are not shareholders. One of course are children born to Osage families after 1906, they did not recieve a headright. Also headrights were treated as property and could be sold. Once a person sold a headright his desendents could no loger become shareholders. But I think the largest group of non-shareholding Osages are the children and grandchildren of us Shareholders. You only inherit the headright after your headright holding realative passes on.
